  Well I just wanted to let you know that my father just got off his Battlefields tour with my Uncle and they were very happy. They had an absolute ball! They said their guide was a pleasure and the tour itself and Backroads as a company are absolutely fantastic! My Uncle in particular travels every year (is rather pedantic) and has never been with Backroads before. They both said they loved it and would definitely be touring with us again! I just wanted to let you both know, and also thank you both for providing such a great service. My Dad is extremely overworked has been his whole life and I am so so happy that he is enjoying his trip and you guys are partly to thank for that! So…. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!!

  We have just returned from our 2 day Somme & Ypres Salient tour & we would like to say thank you for an amazing trip which was well organized, efficiently run & very enjoyable. In particular we would like to highlight our guide Mark, whose knowledge & enthusiasm for his subject made the trip truly special; he has a wonderful skill in that he makes everyone feel included & the trip pertinent to everyone no matter which country they are from.   I am writing to thank you for arranging for my parents (Brian and June Woodley) to go on the battlefields tour to the Somme and Ypres on the Saturday 13.11.10 to Sunday 14.11.10. My parents found the tour very interesting, enabling them to engage with the first world war period of history through visiting relevant sites. The tour was well organised and they spoke highly of Jeff (Geoff?), whose commentary and delivery made the trip enjoyable and informative. This was a particular tour that my father wanted to do and I appreciate the fact that it went well, particularly given that it was his 80th birthday.
